Weekly Message

Welcome to this year’s first issue of our Cams Hill School Weekly Message!

Our weekly message will be published every Friday and serves to celebrate events and activities that have taken place during the week and offer parents, carers and pupils key information about the school; this could include key dates for the diary, sports news and fixtures and information about clubs, forthcoming trips and activities.

This week we have very much enjoyed welcoming back to school our Year 8 – 11 pupils as well as all the pupils who are new to our school community including our ‘new’ Year 7 pupils. With the support of tutors and pupil buddies we hope that all of our new pupils are finding their way around the school site, making new friends and enjoying their lessons with their new teachers.

Our Dining Hall is open for full-service following the completion of the building works that took place last term. Year 7 pupils are starting their lunchtime a little earlier than the rest of the school, whilst they settle into the routine of secondary school life. All pupils in the school have the option of purchasing a plated meal in the Dining Hall and ‘take-away’ food from the servery, based in the Dining Hall, as well as the servery that opens onto the playground. Should there be concerns, please contact your child’s tutor in the first instance. We remind parents and carers that we are cashless and ask that pupils have money in their TUCASI accounts in order to purchase food and drink in school.

We are enjoying the typical September warm and sunny weather! Should pupils need to top up their water bottles during the day, we now have three water stations around the school site which can be accessed during break and lunchtime.

You will be aware from the Headteacher’s summer mailing that our site team have been relentless in their mission to continue to develop the school site for pupils and staff with many areas freshly painted and improvements made to the accessibility to our outdoor space. The re-modelling and refurbishment of our lower school girls’ toilets has been met with particular delight offering a modern and fresh facility.

Mrs Harrison-Jones has delivered an assembly to every year group this week which has included a reminder to pupils of our fundamental principles Ready, Respectful, Safe. Our pupils have already demonstrated their understanding of these expectations as they make their way around the school, considerate of others and with a positive attitude to learning in the classrooms with their teachers.  We wish our pupils to be kind, be proud and aim high.
