Uniformed Services – Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
The Uniformed Services pupils were lucky enough to visit the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth this week. Where they had the opportunity to learn about the rich history and traditions of the Royal Navy.
Firstly, they were completely emersed in the atmosphere that the Mary Rose Museum creates and then they had a chance to join Nelson’s Navy and explore his flagship HMS Victory; it was decided by all that they would not have enjoyed life on board.
We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth. Finally, they were enlisted into the Victorian Navy exploring the first iron clad ship; they agreed conditions on board were better, however, they still all agreed they would have not enjoyed life on board. The day contained laughter, smiles and lots of learning.
World Art Day
The Art department celebrated World Art Day on 15 April by sharing their favourite artworks created by themselves. They were also impressed with pieces not only by some of our pupils but our fabulously creative staff too.
There wasn’t a theme, those that participated created anything they love to draw, paint, photograph, collage, digitally design and even silversmith.
We hope to display these pieces in reception soon.

MathsWatch and Educake
These are two online resources that we expect pupils to be accessing routinely with homework set by teachers and independently to support their progress in Maths, Science, and other subjects. We ask parents/carers to check in with their child to see whether they are accessing these resources routinely and to encourage the best use of them.
If there are issues with access, please bring this to the school’s attention as soon as possible so that we can help.
