7th February 2025

Thank you to all parents/carers who joined us for the Year 9 Parents’ Subject Evening on Tuesday and for the feedback provided through the completion of the questionnaire. The next Parents’ Subject Evening will be for Year 7 taking place on Tuesday 25 February 2025 as per the school’s calendar.

February Half Term Holiday

Next week sees the conclusion of the first half of the Spring Term with school closing to pupils on Friday 14 February 2025 and reopening on Monday 24 February 2025.

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week

During Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week pupils have had the opportunity to discuss their strengths and weaknesses. During tutor time, they have each created a leaf which has a word or sentence to describe something they would like to get better at. The leaf symbolises growing and developing.  The leaves are being adding to our ‘Know yourself, Grow yourself’ tree mural. As a tutor group they also picked one word to describe their group’s strong point.  The words are being added to the trunk of the tree which symbolises strength. Mrs Farmer and the Nexus tutor group are looking forward to seeing the mural filled with everyone’s leaves as they come in this week.

National Careers Week – Monday 3 March 2025 – Friday 7 March 2025

To mark National Careers Week, we are inviting all Cams Hill pupils to complete a ‘Careers Conversation’ with an adult known to them. Pupils will ask career-related questions to gain an insight into their chosen adult’s career journey collecting the responses on a form (please see link below). As a collective, the adults in the Cams Hill School community are a huge resource to our pupils. All information gathered will be anonymised, and collated, and examples will be fed back to pupils during National Careers Week.

We hope that these conversations will encourage our pupils to remain curious about the careers surrounding them.

Pupils will have until Monday 24 February 2025 to complete the form https://forms.office.com/e/526YJXAime  (or use the qr code above)

All pupils who complete and submit a form will be entered into the Careers Week Prize Draw.

Year 7 Netball

Any Year 7 pupil who would like to play in the Girls Netball Tournament at Cams Hill on Thursday 13 February, please sign up outside the PE office by end of Tuesday 11 February 2025 next week.

There will be no general training next week for any netball group due to the tournament.

Remembrance Themed Art Homework

Pupils wanting to collect their Remembrance themed Art homework should go to Ar2 at break or end of school before next Friday, 14 February, or ask their Art teacher during their next lesson.

Ramadan

The RS Department is organising a display and information for tutors about Ramadan and would like to share the importance of Ramadan to members of our Cams Hill Community.

If you are going to be taking part in Ramadan at the end of this month, I would be grateful if you could email office@camshill.com for the attention of Mrs McCune with answers to the following questions by Friday 14 February. We would only use quotes to share with the pupils, not mentioning any names.

  • How does your family and community come together during Ramadan?
  • What are some of the challenges of Ramadan?
  • Why is Ramadan special/important to you?
  • What one word describes Ramadan for you?
