Annual Leavers’ Shirt Signing
Parent Tours Available for Parents/Carers of Current Pupils
Every year we invite prospective parents/carers and pupils into school to see the school on a usual day and help with secondary school decision making. We recognise that parents/carers of pupils currently on roll at the school will be equally as interested to see their child’s school in action.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce that we are launching tours for parents/carers of current pupils. Information about when tours are available and how to book has been sent to parents/carers directly.
Year 7 Subject Parents’ Evening
The Year 7 Subject Parents’ Evening is taking place on Thursday 20 June 2024 in school. This is an opportunity for parents/carers to meet each of their child’s subject teachers and discuss their progress. Parents/carers have been sent a letter with the specific details on how to book appointments.
Reporting your Child Absent – New ‘Studybugs’ App
This week, we launched the ‘Studybugs’ app and website at Cams. This will allow you to report your child’s absence quickly and easily when they are ill. You no longer need to call or email and Studybugs integrates with our systems so that we can follow up straight away if a pupil is unaccounted for.

Annual Leavers’ Shirt Signing
After their Chemistry exam on Tuesday, Year 11 pupils, along with teachers and support staff, gathered on the hard courts for the annual leavers’ shirt signing. Pupils collected their Year Books, which contain lots of happy memories and lovely words from their teachers and tutors.
We saw some fabulous embellishment and personalisation of their shirts, including feathers, bows and diamantes! It was a lovely afternoon, topped off with a beautiful cupcake tower, courtesy of the fantastic catering team! A truly special day for our Year 11 leavers – we will miss you, Class of 2024!
Year 9 Persuasive Talk/Speech
Twenty-nine Year 9 pupils had a visit from the Education Business Partnership (EBP) on Thursday who spoke to them about how to use persuasive speech and writing in the business environment. The pupils were selected because of their interest in Business Studies and were able to put into practice some of the techniques to ‘sell’ a product of their own. Rob, from Queensbury Shelters, made the sessions interactive and interesting and the pupils really enjoyed themselves.
Sports Results
Hampshire Athletics Finals
On Saturday 8 June pupils travelled to the Mountbatten Centre, Portsmouth to represent Fareham and Gosport in the Hampshire Athletics finals. We had some outstanding performances on the day with pupils aiming to qualify to represent Hampshire at the English school’s competition in Birmingham in a few weeks’ time. Thank you to all pupils who took part but a special mention to L Morton who cleared 1.85m in the high jump (3cm off automatic qualification), O Knipe who finished 4th in the 1500m and R Savage who placed 3rd in the 200m and therefore qualified to perform at English schools. This is an outstanding achievement and well done to all involved.
