Pupils have now met all their new teachers, completing the second week of their two-week timetable. They are making their way from lesson to lesson using the one-way system which has remained in place from last year and are getting to grips with the timings of the school day.
Year 7 have settled in well and have been so well supported by the older pupils as they get used to life in a secondary school and Year 11 are knuckling down to their studies in their final year supported by their teachers and the pastoral team. Alongside their studies they are beginning to think more seriously about their next steps post-16. To support them with this Mr Purslow (CEIAG Coordinator) has arranged for representatives from the local colleges to come into school and meet with our pupils. Please see below further details.

Open Evening – 30 September 2021
Our doors will open to prospective parents/carers choosing a secondary school for their children on Thursday 30 September 2021 from 1800 to 2000. The evening is an exciting opportunity to meet our pupils and staff, explore the school, and discover the opportunities on offer. It is always an incredibly special evening for our Cams Hill community and we look forward to welcoming all our visitors.
Next Steps Open Evening – 21 Sepember 2021
Year 11 pupils and their parents/carers are invited to attend our ‘Next Steps’ Open Evening taking place on Tuesday 21 September 2021 from 1600 to 1900. We have invited several local colleges and some apprentice providers to exhibit. They will have their latest prospectuses available along with information on their open events, etc.
This is a fantastic opportunity to have a conversation about life after Cams Hill School and the courses available. Mr Purslow (CEIAG Coordinator) will also be on hand to offer impartial advice and to answer any questions pupils may have on careers in general.
High School Musical Auditions
Wow! What a fantastic turn out for auditions this week for ‘High School Musical’. It was so wonderful to have the Drama studios alive with noise and excitement again after a year and a half on pause. Pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 flocked in their numbers to show off their singing, dancing and acting talent.
Thank you and well done to everyone who came along to audition; we really appreciate your support and enthusiasm to get involved. The casting is in process; whatever the outcome, we are proud of you.
