Credit Averages for This Week

Year 7                  9.03

Year 8                  5.37

Year 9                  5.32

Year 10                3.62

We started the week in hot sunshine but have concluded with heavy rain! We have advised pupils to be prepared for all eventualities and ask that when the weather is changeable they bring a coat to school, remembering that we are spending breaktimes and lunchtimes outside unless there is a torrential downpour.

Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs)

This week has been a significant week for us as a school as we concluded the grade determination process for Year 11 pupils in the absence of exams. All grades had to be submitted to the Exam Boards by today ahead of the external quality assurance measures that come into play next week.

Year 11 Provision

In the meantime, provision for Year 11 pupils continues including the timetabled MasterClasses in a range of subjects delivered by specialist teachers. We have had a number of pupils in attendance this week and ask that pupils wishing to attend the sessions taking place next week, sign-up using the form previously provided by 1500 the day before the session taking place. There is also a tutor session scheduled on Wednesday for pupils to catch up with their tutors, as they adjust to life away from school.

Year 9 Guided Choices

Guided Choices, for pupils in Year 9 moving into Year 10 next year, have now been finalised and will be shared with pupils and parents/carers next week.

Year 10 Exams

In-Class Assessments have taken place this week with exams starting on Monday. We remind pupils that their teachers have given them plenty of resources to help them prepare for these assessments and wish them the very best next week.

New Helpline Service – 13-18-year-olds

‘Is This OK’ is a relatively new (2019) helpline in partnership between Childline and the Runaway helpline, funded by BBC Children in Need and The Worshipful Company of Information Technologies. As well as a helpline there is a lot of useful information and advice for young people.
