We are back!
We are so pleased to announce that today we have seen the full return to all pupils in all year groups and the school is alive! Teachers are thrilled to be back in the classroom teaching and pupils have told us how pleased they are to be back in school enjoying the face-to-face interactions with their teachers and, importantly, with each other.
Care, Guidance and Support
We are mindful that a return to school is not a straightforward transition for all; our pastoral team have been looking out for and working with the pupils who need a bit of extra support and guidance as they adjust back into the school routine. We encourage parents/carers to get in touch with tutors/Heads of Year where they have concerns about their child so that support can be actioned promptly.
Asymptomatic Testing Site
Following the Government’s Guidance, pupils in all year groups have made their way through the school’s Asymptomatic Test Site (ATS) for the first of three LFD tests and, as of today, pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 have also had their second test. By the end of Monday, almost 2500 tests will have been processed and recorded.
The pupils have been brilliant; they have arrived on time; they have followed instructions and they have been incredibly supportive and respectful towards each other. We are living in strange times, but in true Cams Hill spirit, the school Community has pulled together to get the job done.
We could not do this without our team of volunteers!
We have the most amazing team of volunteers from our parent/carer and wider community working and supporting pupils in the test centre. We are so grateful to them all for giving their time which has enabled us to the run the centre on a large scale with no impact on the rest of the school.
Self-testing at home
When pupils make their way through the site for their last test, they will be issued with their self-testing kits so that testing can continue twice per week at home. More details will be sent to parents and carers very soon.
