Weekly Message – Issue 71
Today concludes the first half of the Summer Term.
Staff have been busy this last fortnight evolving the school’s home learning provision for pupils for the next half-term, now that we know it is unlikely, we will see most of our pupils before September.
We have sent guidance to pupils, parents and carers regarding remote/home learning, which shares what pupils can expect from their teachers and tutors in the coming weeks after the half-term holiday.
We are grateful to the parents/carers supporting their children’s access to the home learning on offer and for the feedback we have received as we evolve into this next phase.
Teacher’s will not be setting new work for the half-term holiday, but pupils will find that there is a wealth of resources available on ClassCharts if this is of interest.
We wish all our readers a safe and enjoyable half-term.
Keeping in touch
Mrs Harrison-Jones (Headteacher) has written to all parents/carers as we reach this half-term point. You can read this letter here.
Assemblies
The Heads of Year conclude each week with a short assembly to update, share information and to keep-in-touch with pupils in their year groups.
Assemblies for the week will be posted on our new Vimeo Assemblies channel by the end of every Friday: https://vimeo.com/channels/1579277

Key Worker School (KWS)
We’ve had a focus on nature this week at KWS after some guests moved in…
Inspired by the arrival of two new chicks, Mr Shawley had the idea of creating some slightly more sturdy structures for the birds to nest in …
So, we have created a series of KWS Bird Houses to help create homes for our feathered friends. As always, the lovely Mr Anderson-Poore was in his DIY element and on hand to offer advice.
We’ve also been lucky enough to see our hard work at KWS pay off with the sprouting of lovely flowers thanks to the glorious sunbeams.
